Obituary

Rian Philip Churchey, age 46, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, with family by his side. Born on November 15, 1978, Rian was a loving father, devoted son, and cherished brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin who left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Rian is survived by his two beloved sons, Colby Parker and Timothy Churchey; his mother, Lori Churchey; his brother, Brandon Churchey; his sister, Bailey Morris; and his loyal dog, Odin. **He was preceded in death by his father, Fred (Derf) Churchey**

A graduate of Plymouth South High School class of 1996, Rian was a talented varsity soccer player. He was a member of the iron workers union before training to become an army medic and later completed the nursing program at Quincy College.

Rian had a huge heart and cherished his family above all else. He was known for hosting hectic gatherings at Freddyville (Local 13, Code Red), organizing Sunday Fundays and family dinners, and never missed an opportunity to have a good time with loved ones. As a father, Rian was immensely proud of Colby and Timmy, who were the loves of his life. As a coach for their basketball and baseball teams, he brought a special brand of instruction, inspiration, and heckling to the field and court. His free spirit and authentic soul left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Rian took great pride in his Irish Catholic heritage and Gypsy nature, often seen wearing his signature Scally cap while out and about in Plymouth, the town he loved. He walked his own path, lived life unapologetically, and left behind a legacy of loving unconditionally while leaving everyone around him guessing what he might do next.

Please join his family in celebrating his life. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360. A church service will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Mary's Parish in North Plymouth, 313 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360. Following the service, a procession will lead to the gravesite at Vine Hills Cemetery at 102 Samoset St, Plymouth, MA 02360.

Rian's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
