IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Fuller
May 17, 1946 – September 17, 2025
Richard "Leigh" Fuller, 79, of Halifax, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Leigh led a life defined by service, transformation, and unwavering faith. His early career began with the Forestry Department in Crow's Nest, where he also served on the town council. He later distinguished himself in automotive sales, earning national recognition as one of Ford's top salespeople in Australia. During Gladstone's real estate boom, Leigh became Manager of the Kele Brothers Agency, where his leadership helped shape the business into a thriving enterprise.
In 1986, Leigh experienced the most profound turning point of his life: he was born again and devoted himself fully to Jesus Christ. This spiritual rebirth became the cornerstone of his life's mission. He joined the Goombungee Wesleyan Methodist Church, earned his ministerial credentials, and began preaching across Australia. His ministry was marked by conviction, compassion, and a deep love for the Gospel. Leigh played a vital role in establishing new fellowships and nurturing communities of faith.
After relocating to the United States in 2005, Leigh continued his ministry by co-founding the L Street Mission in Brockton, Massachusetts. There, he dedicated countless hours to serving the homeless, offering not only food and shelter but dignity, hope, and the unwavering message of God's love.
Beyond his ministry, Leigh was a man of many passions and talents. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in the quiet solitude of hunting and the camaraderie of target shooting with friends. He was a master of gun and knife safety, and a devoted fisherman who felt most at peace by the water.
Leigh's curiosity and craftsmanship extended into his workshop and garden, always offering friends and family an abundance of freshly picked vegetables.
He had a lifelong love for Australian sports cars and could talk for hours about their design and performance. American history was another area of interest that Leigh had, with a focus on World War II. Leigh also had a special place in his heart for rescue dogs, whose loyalty and spirit mirrored his own. They were his companions, his joy, and often the stars of his stories.
Leigh is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Linda Fuller of Halifax, MA; his brothers Rex (New Zealand) and Perry (Australia); three loving stepchildren Jessica Colanino (Halifax, MA) and her partner Christopher Sweeney; Matthew Colanino (Weymouth, MA) and his wife Kelly; and Allyson Concannon (East Bridgewater, MA) and her husband Zack; as well as two adored step-grandchildren, Ronan and Hunter. Leigh also leaves behind his three children, who he loved very much: Ben, Jodie, and Amanda Fuller of Gladstone, Australia; as well as his three grandchildren, Chase, Alahnie, and Sammy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27th at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 65 West Elm Street in Brockton, MA. All who knew Leigh are invited to gather in remembrance of a life lived with purpose, humility, and unwavering faith.
Leigh Fuller's legacy endures in the lives he touched, the ministries he built, and the love he gave freely. His journey from Australia to America was guided by a singular devotion to Christ, a heart committed to service, and a spirit enriched by curiosity, craftsmanship, and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please consider keeping his legacy alive by donating to the L Street Mission. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
