Obituary

Garrard, Richard Francis, 70, of Plymouth, passed away Friday, April 29 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston,surrounded by his loved ones. Richard was born in Plymouth, MA September 9, 1939. He served from 1958-1960 in the United States Air Force. He was retired from the Labors Union, Local #721. He was employed by the Plymouth Police as a beach officer in the late 1970's and early 1980's. He was also a long time member and bartender at the Seaside Club in Plymouth. Richard is survived by his sons; Patrick J. Garrard of Plymouth, Victor V. Garrard and his wife Susan of Plymouth and Victor M. Higgins and his wife Laurie of Plymouth and one daughter, Richele F. Garrard of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by his sister Alice Jones of Plymouth. He was the twin brother of the late Robert A. Garrard and brother of the late Arthur James Garrard. He was the grandfather to Marc, Kevin and Michael Higgins of Plymouth and Daniel and Brian Garrard of Plymouth. He was the great grandfather of Brandon Higgins and the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be by the Bartlett-Garrity Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 3 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. A funeral mass at St. Peter's Church in Plymouth will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 4. Interment will follow at Vine Hills Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
