Obituary

Richard Clark Osborne, 65, of Plymouth, MA died on November 15, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA following complications from his long battle with diabetes.

Rick was born in Weymouth, MA, and graduated from Scituate High School in 1977. Rick began his career in the information technology field in 1978, working at Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield, among other companies. For the past 9 years, he was an IT Specialist for HCL Technologies in Providence, RI.

Rick enjoyed all of the Boston sports teams. He loved watching the Patriots play on Sundays and attending games with his children. When his children were growing up, Rick often coached their basketball teams. Rick also enjoyed being with his family on holidays, from attending the Plymouth 4th of July parade to putting the Christmas tree up right before Halloween. He was especially festive during the Christmas season, watching treasured Hallmark movies with his wife and listening to holiday tunes. In his later years, Rick most enjoyed spending quality time with his four grandchildren, taking them out in the backyard to see the swans, playing hide and seek and ball, and sharing his love of nature. He was an adoring husband, father, and grandfather, lovingly named "Gampy".

Rick is survived by his wife, Sandra (Lindblom), of 39 years; his children, Andrew Osborne and his fiancée Danielle Murphy of Hanson, Timothy Osborne and his wife Gabrielle of Sandwich, and Julianna Osborne of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Charlie, Isla, and Reese of Sandwich and Killian of Hanson; his siblings, Phyllis Lindblom and Susan Anderson of Quincy, and Robert Osborne of Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his mother, Brenda Osborne (Harwood).

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home. A short memorial service will immediately follow this time. We ask those in attendance to please wear their favorite Boston sports attire to celebrate Rick's love of sports.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center,

Office of Philanthropy, 529 Main Street, 4th Floor, Charlestown, MA 02129. https://giving.bilh.org/joslindiabetescenter/
