Obituary

Richard A. "Rich" Ranton, 67 of Kingston, originally from Dorchester, passed away peacefully March 19, 2026, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Robert and Joan (Duffy) Ranton. He was the devoted husband of Ellen (Driscoll). He was a loving father to Ashley and her husband Thomas Olinger of Manchester, NH, Molly and Emily of Kingston. He was a proud grandfather of Caleb and Madelyn. Also survived by his brother Robert Ranton III of Milton and his wife Mary. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School. He worked for more than 30 years at Harvey Industries.

Rich found joy in life's simplest and meaningful moments. A devoted Boston sports fan, he rarely missed a game and took pride in cheering on his teams. At home he was in his element behind the grill mastering family cookouts that brought everyone together. He loved the family drives to the Cape creating memories that will be remembered forever. Above all, he treasured time with his children and took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow, always present with love, laughter and strength.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 24th, from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be at St. Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, Kingston, on Wednesday, March 25th at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.
