Obituary

Wagner, Ruth (Boutin), 88, of Plymouth, passed away on April 19, 2012. She was born on March 19, 1924 in Clearwater, FL to Albert "Bert" and Margaret (McKim) Boutin. Ruth grew up in Plymouth, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1941. Her father, Bert, was the original owner of "Bert's Restaurant on Plymouth Beach." Ruth served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946, where she met the love of her life, John Wagner. After getting married, she lived in Yonkers, NY for 2 years, then moved back to Plymouth until 1968. She then moved to Maryland until her husbands death in 1980 and then returned to Plymouth. She retired from Bridgewater State College as a secretary after 20 years. Ruth wrote and published many children's stories, including her book "Bert's Undersea Adventure." Ruth had so much love for Plymouth, as well as the beach and ocean. Ruth was the loving wife, for 33 years of the late John W Wagner, Sr. She was the adoring mother of John W Wagner, Jr., of Tracy, CA, Lesley J. Maguire and her husband, Kevin of Mechanicsville, MD, Kenneth A. Wagner and his wife, Laureen, of Plymouth, MA, Lauren E. Higgins and her husband, Victor, of Plymouth, MA and Jeffrey J Wagner of Plymouth, MA. She was the devoted "Gram" to 10 grandchildren and "Great Gram" to 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean McQuade, of Rumford, Maine. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 24 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Plymouth on Wednesday, April 25 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
