Tavares, Sally (Souza), age 91, of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 surrounded by family. She was born in Plymouth, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Santos) Souza. Sally was the loving wife of Manuel Tavares for 52 years. She was the mother of Gerald P. Tavares of Plymouth and the late Philip A Tavares. She was "vavo" to grandson, Phillip (and Jeanine) Tavares of Marshfield, as well as great grandson, Anthony. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sally was a devoted parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Plymouth. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She loved to cook. Sally loved her family more than anything and was adored by all who knew her. She was very active and loved walking in Plymouth. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 7, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Plymouth on Tuesday, May 8 at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
