Sheryl Ann Whiting (Hunt), 72 of Hyannis, MA, passed away on February 16, 2025, at The McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. Sheryl was born March 1952 in Rockland, Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her Parents Robert E. and Mildred F. Hunt (Harris).

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Lee Edward Whiting of Hyannis, MA, her children Barbara Ann Whiting of Plymouth, MA and Michael Edward Whiting of Hyannis, MA. She is also survived by her Sister Cynthia Hunt (Predeceased James McCarthy) of Bridgewater, her five Brothers Dean Hunt of Orleans, Douglas Hunt (wife Jo-Anne) of Braintree, David Hunt (wife Susan) of Taunton, Paul Hunt of Dennis, Donny Hunt (Predeceased Alice Faye) of Palm Bay Florida, Former Sister-in-Law and dear friend Deborah Fulcher of Spencer, Many cherished In-Laws, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Sheryl attended Rockland High School and Cape Cod Community College. For over 30 years Sheryl was a Certified Nursing assistant, later a Physical Therapy Aide, and Medical Assistant. She was involved in the POW/MIA committee through the Nam Vets Association. She attended retreats at Omega Institute for Holistic studies Sacred Circle. Sheryl loved her large family, extended family, her cats and all animals. She was a spiritual and compassionate nurturer who loved to cook. There was always a place for everyone at her table and in her heart. Sheryl was very creative, artistic and talented. She loved to play the guitar singing her old favorites, family and friends loved hearing her play Malaguena and The House of the Rising Sun. She sewed custom clothes, handmade dolls, doll clothes, pillows and quilts that were unique. Her favorite pastime was doing crosswords in pen. Sheryl had a great sense of humor, and a laugh that will always be remembered.

A Catholic funeral service to celebrate Sheryl's life will be held 09:00 a.m. Saturday March 8th, 2025, at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. Rockland, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be made to VNA of Cape Cod, 25 Communication way, Hyannis, MA 02601.
