Steven Stone, 66, passed away on August 21st at his home in Yarmouth, MA after a short illness.

Born in Wareham MA, Steve was raised in Falmouth, and graduated from Falmouth High School.

Steve proudly served in the United States Air Force as a communications specialist and was stationed in both Panama and in Tucson Arizona. He loved being out West and would talk often about his travels and adventures with his buddies.

He will be remembered as always quick to help family, friends, neighbors, and strangers who were in need with kindness in his heart. Steve was a great listener and enjoyed hearing the stories of other people's lives.

From a young age he proved to be a gifted guitarist and music was an integral part of his daily life. Steve had a lively intelligence, was an avid reader, and a great cook. He loved the ocean, and had a keen interest in world affairs. Steve was also the quintessential wise guy who had a very sharp wit and a wicked sense of humor which will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by a son, Justin J. Thompson and granddaughter Olivia Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA. He also leaves behind a sister, Lou Ann Stone of Washington, DC, a brother Richard Stone of Hatchville and a brother Dennis Stone of Falmouth. Steve was very much loved in this life and will be forever missed.

Burial will be private.
