IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan Elizabeth
Mackay
October 14, 1951 – November 18, 2025
Susan Elizabeth MacKay, 74, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 14, 1951, to John and Lillian (McCarthy) Biggs.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, James MacKay of Duxbury; her daughter Sarah Harding, son-in-law John, and cherished grandchildren Jackson and Madeleine of Arlington; and her son James MacKay of Plymouth. She is also survived by her siblings: Janet Lowe and husband Charles of Weymouth; John Biggs and wife Marie of Lake Forest, IL; Robert Biggs and wife Janice of Hanson; and Peter Biggs and wife Cherry of Duxbury, along with many adored nieces and nephews. She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Lillian and John.
Susan grew up in Braintree and settled in Duxbury in 1986, where she raised her young family. She started her working career at the New England Telephone Company in Boston and then spent over two decades working for Duxbury Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant. Her happiest days were spent on the Cape—especially at Craigville Beach, where she delighted in sunshine, ocean breezes, and a perfectly loaded lobster roll. At home, she found joy by her backyard pool, grilling, swimming, and savoring summertime moments with her family.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Monday, November 24, from 5–7 p.m. at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25, from 10–11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 313 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA.
