Obituary

Suzanne (D'Allessandro) Gnospelius, 85, of North Falmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Suzanne (Sue) will be deeply missed and remembered for her unconditional love, generous spirit, and sharp mind.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, on December 26, 1939, to James and Grace D'Allessandro, Sue grew up in Braintree with her three sisters. She graduated from Braintree High School in 1957 and worked in office management roles at Household Finance and Dunkin Donuts. With her former spouse, she raised three children - John, James (Jay), and Sharon - living in Hingham, MA; Wilton, CT; Lake Forest, IL; Houston, TX; Bryn Mawr, PA and Norwell, MA.

Returning to Massachusetts in 2001, Sue earned a Bachelor's degree in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2008. She settled in Falmouth in 2012, embracing community service and hosting cherished summers with family and friends on Cape Cod.

Sue loved to travel and treasured time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories in Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Australia. A dedicated volunteer, she supported Hand in Hand Thrift Shop, the League of Women Voters, and Neighborhood Falmouth, an organization whose mission is to help seniors live independently, safely, and comfortably at home.

A longtime member of St. Barnabas Church in Falmouth and previously of St. Andrew's Church in Hanover, Sue will be fondly remembered for managing "Grandma's Attic" at the annual St. Barnabas Strawberry Festival and Christmas Fairs.

Sue is survived by her children, John (Jennifer), Sharon (Mark), and Aimilia; grandchildren, Aidan, Megan, Andrew, Luke, and Cate; sisters, Grace and Donna; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay, and her sister, Gail.

A celebration of Sue's life will be held at St. Barnabas Church in Falmouth on Saturday July 12, 2025 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Neighborhood Falmouth (www.neighborhoodfalmouth.org).
