Thomas Daniel Croce
June 17, 1991 – July 3, 2025
Thomas Daniel Croce, age 34, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, and raised in Plymouth, Tommy found his heart and home in Intervale, New Hampshire, where he spent the remainder of his adult life. He attended Word of Life Ministries for his undergraduate studies and later trained as a medical assistant at Lincoln Technical Institute, graduating with distinction.
Tommy devoted his professional life to the service of others through his work in healthcare. From caring for individuals with disabilities to taking on leadership roles in care management, pharmacy, and insurance, his career was marked by compassion, intelligence, and an unwavering dedication to others. His ongoing pursuit of education included training in mental health, emergency medicine, and hospice and palliative care. Fluent in several languages and deeply attuned to diverse cultures and beliefs, Tommy had a gift for forging meaningful connections with those he served and worked alongside.
Tom was a light to all who knew him—his quick wit, warm spirit, and nonjudgmental nature made him a source of comfort and joy. He was the friend you could always count on, someone who gave his time and heart freely. Whether offering a listening ear or a homemade meal, he brought people together with his kindness and generosity. A talented self-taught cook, he often surprised friends and loved ones with comforting dishes, including his famous lasagna and his grandmother Drew's cherished cookies.
In his quiet moments, Tommy enjoyed evenings by the fire with his partner, Tyler Patterson, and their beloved Labrador, Robbie. He also found fulfillment in helping others in unexpected ways, such as teaching inmates to read during a difficult chapter of his own life, and learning Russian so he could recite the rosary with his Russian-speaking patients in Braintree.
Thomas is survived by his loving parents, Kim (Drew) Croce and Daniel Croce; his sisters, Melissa Randall, Elizabeth Croce, and Dara Jane Croce; his nieces, Emily Morgan, Abigail Rae, and Camryn Noelle Randall; his nephews, Colin McKay Randall and Ashton Ryder Boudreau; and his beloved partner, Tyler Patterson. He is also
survived by his dearest friend, Nina Smith, and his cherished godchildren: godsons Anthony Smith, Leon Smith, and Royal Welch, and his goddaughter, Alison Rich. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Joshua Croce, grandparents, George and Doris Drew, and Tom and Beverly Croce, along with many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tommy's life was a testament to quiet strength, deep empathy, and the lasting power of love in action. He will be profoundly missed.
