Obituary

Smith, Thomas J., age 75, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Plymouth. He was born in Roxbury, the son of the late William and Regina (Power) Smith. Tom was the devoted husband for 30 years to the late Patricia (Pina) Smith. He was the loving father of Stephen T. and Jaynee M. Smith and step-father of Robbie, Billy, Lori, Alan, Tracey, Keith and Mikki Hunt. He was the grandfather of 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael A. Smith and his granddaughter, Jasmine. He also leaves behind a brother, William G. Smith (married to Jean) of Scituate as well as 2 nieces and a nephew and his sisters in law, Maryann Veiga and Irene Randolph. Tom joined the United States Marines, and served for many years. He was an active member of the American Legion. He worked for the United States Postal Service for many years. But Tom mostly enjoyed spending time with his family; whether it be eating out, shopping, playing cards, playing the lottery, scratching some tickets or just watching football, baseball or "Law & Order." But most of all he loved spending time with his dog, Boot, they were inseparable. Tom will be remembered for his generosity and his witty sense of humor. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 22, from 9:00-10:30 AM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bonaventure's Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bourne National Cemetery.
