William P. Hallisey

June 22, 1939 - July 15, 2026

William P. Hallisey, 87, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on June 22, 1939, Bill learned the value of hard work at an early age. As a young boy, he delivered newspapers, groceries, trapped muskrats, and took on odd jobs to help support his family. With the money he earned, he proudly purchased his family's first television and later bought and restored his father's first automobile.

Bill believed that "a job worth doing is a job worth doing well." That philosophy guided every aspect of his life. In 1964, he founded Shiretown Glass on the historic Plymouth waterfront. What began as a small local glass shop grew into one of the area's most respected businesses, known for honesty, integrity, exceptional craftsmanship, and outstanding customer service. Bill took tremendous pride in serving the community he loved. Throughout his career, he mentored many, earned the trust of generations of customers, and was respected by colleagues, employees, and friends alike. Bill shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Beverly Hallisey, whom he met through church. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, Beverly (Rhue) Hallisey and was the devoted father of Christine M. Phan and her husband, Mondeth Phan, of Kingston; William P. Hallisey Jr. of Plymouth; Erin Petersen and her husband, Scott Petersen, of Plymouth; and Kathleen Hallisey Prifti and her husband, Philip Prifti, of Plymouth. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to David and Jacqui Phan, Michelle Marie Phan, Michael and Mikayla Phan, and Steven Phan; Eileen, Claire, and Sara Hallisey; Scott, Sean, and William Petersen; and Philip and Timothy Prifti. Great granddaughters Olivia Phan and Mila Phan.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer who proudly achieved a hole-in-one while golfing in Estero, Florida. He was also an accomplished bird carver whose award-winning work earned numerous blue ribbons. Blessed with an exceptional singing voice, Bill loved entertaining family and friends with music, laughter, and stories.

Known for his playful spirit and quick wit, Bill never missed an opportunity for a good practical joke. He was fiercely proud of his Irish heritage, loved gathering with family and friends, and enjoyed a perfectly made martini-straight up, with no olives or garnish because, as he would say, "They just take up space."

Bill was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Eileen Hallisey, and by his siblings, John Hallisey, Beatrice (Hallisey) Thomas, and Jane (Hallisey) Corkum.

Those who knew Bill will remember his generosity, his unwavering love for his family, and his ability to make every gathering brighter. Rarely was he seen without a smile on his face and his signature cowboy hat on his head. His warmth, laughter, and kindness left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth.  A Funeral Mass celebrating Bill's life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Peter's Parish, 86 Court Street, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Burial and Celebration of Life to follow, with details to be announced by the family.

He never liked to say goodbye. Instead, he would simply say,

"So long."

His family finds comfort in those words today and will carry his memory with them always.
