William (Bill) McAnaugh passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2022, surrounded by

his loving family. He was 90 years old. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Ann of 59

years. He also leaves his devoted children; Lori Hooley and her husband Owen, Jill Potvin and

her husband Michael, Todd McAnaugh and his wife Laurie, Craig McAnaugh and his partner

Kiley Krafve and Megan Benting and her husband Glenn. Bill is also survived by his loving

grandchildren; Nicole Tringali and her husband Dan, Shawn Hooley and his partner Nina, Colin

Hooley and his wife Sybille, Justin Potvin and his partner Corey, Connor McAnaugh and his

partner Jill, Kameryn McAnaugh, Brodin and Brooklyn Benting. He leaves 5 beautiful great

grandchildren; Abigail, Rilynn, Benjamin, Jacob, and Hazel-Grace.

Bill was born in Middleborough, MA, lived his early teen and adult years in Brockton, but spent

his final 45 years living in Plymouth. He honorably served in the Korean war for the army and

was assigned to the 57 th Field Artillery Battalion. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal

with 1 Bronze Service Star and a Purple Heart for his time at the battle on Pork Chop Hill.

After the army, Bill was Chief of Property Management for the VA hospital in Brockton and

West Roxbury, MA. After retiring from the VA, he spent over 10 years working in the

warehouse and as a bus driver at Southeastern Regional High School.

Bill will always be remembered out at the pond fishing or grilling. But his heart belonged to golf

and hanging out with his buddies at Squirrel Run and Village Links golf courses. He spent many

enjoyable years fixing the carts, or out on the fairway. Bill also cherished his many years of

early mornings with all the guys at the coffee shop.

But most of all, he adored and was so grateful for his wife and family. Never a day went by

without him mentioning how lucky he was to have the most beautiful, caring, hardworking, and

devoted wife. And he was always fixing or building something at the homes of his children.

He'd drop everything to help his favorite people. He'll be remembered by all as being quite the

character, with a big (and sometime inappropriate) sense of humor and lots of opinions.

One of his most cherished moments was when he

was flown to Washington DC and escorted to the Korean War memorial. In lieu of flowers,

donations can be made to Honor Flight New England (www.honorflightnewengland.org) which

brings our national heroes to Washington DC to celebrate and honor them at the memorials

and monuments.
