William A. Norvish Sr., 83, formerly of Halifax, Massachusetts, passed away on September 29, 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth after battling a long illness. Born on October 20, 1941, he was the beloved son of the late Stephen F. Norvish and Louise A. (Berzinis) Norvish of Brockton.
Bill was predeceased by his brother, Robert S. Norvish.
He is survived by his loving sister, Katherine Voci; his devoted children: William A. Norvish Jr. and his wife Gina, Michelle Barton and her husband Jack, and Daniel Norvish and his wife Lisa. Bill was a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren, a proud great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren, and a beloved uncle to six nieces and nephews.
An Eagle Scout and graduate of Boston University, Bill dedicated his career to General Dynamics, where he worked until his retirement. He was passionate about vegetable gardening, landscaping, and tending flowers throughout his life. After retirement, he enjoyed working a few hours a week caring for the grounds at Widow's Walk Golf Course in Scituate. He maintained a beloved vegetable garden at his nephew's house for many years before his illness. Bill also treasured the time he spent fishing with his sons and grandchildren, creating memories that will be held dear by his family.
Prior to his brief hospital stay, Bill resided at Benchmark Senior Living at Plymouth Crossing in their memory care unit, where he quickly won the hearts of residents and staff alike with his award-winning smile.
His family will forever treasure his memory and the love he shared with them throughout his life.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th at the funeral home, from 2-3:45 pm. There will be a memorial service at the funeral home beginning at 3:45 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend.
