Obituary for Juanita M Duncan (Elton)

Juanita E. Duncan, 95, died peacefully surrounded by family on November 16, 2014 at Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Forest Grove, Oregon on July 15, 1919 to Marshall Henry and Mildred Ivy Elton. She grew up in Oregon, but lived most of her life in southern California. She touched many lives with her kindness and gentle personality. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling throughout the world with friends.
Beloved wife of the late James Byrne Duncan who preceded her in death in 1982. Juanita was the loving mother to Michael James Duncan and his wife Sharron of Lancaster, PA, and Christine Kay Sheehan and her husband William (“Jack”), of Plymouth, MA. Being a grandmother was one of the joys in her life and she cherished her five grandchildren, Kevin, Amy, Matthew, James, and Drew. She was also a great-grandmother to six children, Cassidy, Colin, Gabe, Noah, Jackson, and Molly.
A private memorial will be held on Saturday, November 22 at White Cliffs. Burial will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA, where her husband Jim is also buried.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Stroke Association or to Autism Speaks.
