Obituary for Charles W Schwalm

Schwalm, Charles, 89, of Plymouth, passed away on January 7, 2015. He was born in Hyde Park, the son of the late Helen (Helmsdorff) and William Schwalm.
He graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1943, joining the Navy shortly thereafter. Two weeks after joining the Navy he left for Hiroshima.
Charles loved collecting coins, fishing, painting and wood carving.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Moran). He also leaves behind his children; Paul and Julie Schwalm of N. Attleboro, Mark Schwalm of Hingham, Jayne and Nicholas Kollias of N. Attleboro and Brian and Julie Schwalm of Maine. He was the loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jeane Fitch of MA, Gerry Knapp of KC, Missouri and Martha Downey of CA. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Schwalm.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Carver at 11:30 am on Monday, January 12th. Interment will follow at Bourne National Cemetery.
