Obituary for Edward J Wenz

Edward J "Peanuts" Wenz, age 89, passed peacefully on January 22, 2015 after a long and fulfilling life.

Mr. Wenz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence (Sohmer) Wenz, his daughter Susan and son in law Richard Madden of Carver, Ma and son Douglas and daughter in law Rita Wenz of N. Babylon, NY. He also leaves 8 grandchildren and 4 beloved great grandchildren.

Born 3/25/1925 in NYC, and grew up in Astoria, NY.
Ed was a WW2 Navy veteran, proudly serving on the USS Augusta. In his later years, he volunteered at the USS Salem and took great pride in his service which was apparent in his story telling. He held his veteran brothers close to his heart.
A carpenter by trade after the war, he moved his family to Marshfield, Ma and was employed by EF Hauserman where he was a foreman for the New England region. He was a skilled woodworker and spent many hours in his shop at his home in Marshfield.
An avid fisherman, he enjoyed the ocean and traveling the world to enjoy the sport. He especially enjoyed his time fly fishing.
He also enjoyed his yearly Navy reunions around the world and having his daily meeting with his friends at the coffee shop.
His immense love for his great grandchildren will be passed on to them in stories of their Papa.
