Obituary for Donald Maguire

MAGUIRE, Donald – of Norwell, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Brockton, MA. Donald was born on October 6, 1927 to James and Mary (McEvoy) Maguire. He was raised and educated in South Boston. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of the Weymouth Elks Club. He enjoyed reading history books, cooking, fine dining, and spending time on Sebago Lake in Maine. He is survived by Ruth E. (Coughlin), his wife of sixty-two years; his beloved children: John, Donna, Paul, David, Lee, and Richard; and his cherished grandchildren: Meghan, Erin, Aidan, Ian, Avia, Brendan, Cameron, and Alden. He was predeceased by his siblings Charles, James, and Doris. Private services are planned. Donations in Donald’s memory may be sent to Fisher House Boston, a charitable foundation providing support services to veterans and their families, P.O. Box 230, South Walpole, MA 02071.
