Obituary for George E Short Jr.

George E Short Jr.
Short, George E Jr., of Plymouth, passed away April 2, 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Mary (Smith) and George E. Short, Sr.
George was brought up in Carver, graduating from Memorial High School in Middleboro. He was a long-time employee of Boston Whaler in Rockland, MA. After being unable to procure a job, George retired. He had a small shop, tinkering with small engines in his back yard, which kept him happy and busy. George enjoyed the simple things in life; spending time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face, a smile that will be sadly missed.
George is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia (Tribou) Short. He also leaves behind his beloved children, Tammy DeSouza and Robert (and Rachel) Short, both of Plymouth. He was the loving grandfather of 3 grandchildren; Christopher Lantz, Ashley Short and Brittany LeRoux, as well as one great-grandson, Christopher Lantz, Jr, age 4, all of Plymouth. He also leaves behind his sisters, Marie Fraser of Plymouth, Charlotte Hasomeris of West Bridgewater, Brenda Craig and Cathy Hadfield of Rotonda, West Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and Norman Short as well as his sisters, Lucille Simon, Miriam Short and Sally Moran.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Services will be private.
