Obituary for Joyce Kane

Joyce E. Kane, 76, of Plymouth, passed away on May 14th after a long illness.

She was born to the late Aldo Pecco and the late Florence Milano Pecco on February 5, 1939 in Thomaston, Connecticut. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Kane of Pymouth and a devoted and loving mother to her children, Melissa Kane of Boston and Thomas Kane Jr. of Plymouth. She is also survived by a large family including her sisters — Gloria Brevetti and Dolores Hamel, and a brother Aldo Pecco,Jr. She was pre-deceased by her sister Henrietta Duffy.

She was a valued employee at the Sheraton/Radisson Hotel in Plymouth where she worked as a housekeeper for over 19 years. In addition, many prominent Plymouth families were honored and blessed to have Joyce care for their homes and children throughout the years.

She was much loved for her compassion and sense of humor. For many years, she volunteered her services at the Council on Aging. She was awarded many commendations and, in particular, citations from Governor Duval Patrick and Therese Murray for her valued and passionate service to the elderly. She was a communicant of Saint Peter’s Church in Plymouth and contributed her time and efforts within the CCD program.

She also had a great love for animals, especially dogs and cats. Therefore, it was her request that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130

Funeral arrangements have been attended to by Bartlett Funeral Home of Plymouth, MA. A funeral mass will be offered for Joyce on June 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth with burial of ashes following at the Vine Hills Cemetery.
