The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Barbara Riedel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Being childhood friends

Barbara and I attended Sacred Heart School together when it was located on Court Street.  I often walked home to her house on Vernon Street with her.  Her home was such an exciting place to visit, because I was an only child.. Occassionly her brother Tommy would try to spar with me.  Needless to say, Barbara always  came to my  rescue.  Her brothers Tommy and Jimmy really found me easy to tease as I was rather gullible.

Barbara was always a loyal friend to me.  We drifted apart when we left Sacred Heart School and went to Plymouth Public Schools.

We played outside most of the time.  The house was crowded at the time with her two older sisters and their husbands, brothers Tommy and Jimmy, father and mother.

Barbara's mother was a tall, strong woman that had a lot of patience!

Her father was a policeman. He was stern and  I never tried to stepped out of line when he was home.
