The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gerald Sylvia can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Christmas Eve

My dad loved Christmas!  He always made it special for us kids.  He spent hours decorating the outside of our house on Larch Street; lights, greens, and those red musical bells.  My dad loved playing Santa too.  He would ridie on the firetruck and pass out candy and small toys.

I think he had more fun picking out and playing with our toys than we did.  Every Christmas Eve our grandparents and great grandparents would come to the house for a party filled with friends, family, and tons of great food and laughter.  We kids would be put to bed in wait for Santa, but at the stroke of midnight our parents would wake us up to open our gifts so our grands could see our delight.  As we got older, we would visit family and friends.

This Christmas won't be the same knowing he isn't in this world.  I'm so greatful to have my childhood Christmas memories that are so sweet and wonderful.
