Obituary for Clive Garvey

Clive  Garvey
Clive William Garvey, 85, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on June 4, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Clive was born in Springfield Massachusetts on June 16, 1930 and at a young age moved to Plymouth where he was raised with love by Kate Burgess and attended Plymouth Schools.
Clive was married to Carol L. Alexander on January 2, 1950; they were married for 66 year.
Clive had many jobs in Plymouth in his younger years and worked for 20 year as a truck driver for Benea Block of Kingston. He was most proud when he and Carol began their own antique business: Garvey’s Place, which they ran for 20 years or more then retiring in 1991 to their home in Dunedin, Florida where they spent their retirement years traveling and where he became involved in the Mobile Park they resided in and later as President of the Park Association at which time he was instrumental in the park residents purchasing there ownership shares of the parks. He and Carol then returned home to Plymouth to be with their Family.
Clive is survived by his wife Carol, daughters, Claudia M. Detrani and Katherine L. Rebell , son in-laws, Nicholas Detrani and Steven Rebell. Grandchildren: Elizabeth Lacivita, Jason, Benjamin, and Jesie Rebell
Great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Meredith, William and Penelope. He is also survived by many nieces and newphew.
Clive is preceded in death by his son Clive William Garvey, Jr. and daughter Karen Linda Garvey and his brother Roger Garvey.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 on June 7, 2016 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on June 8, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, 41 Westerly Road, Plymouth. Burial will be at Vine-Hill Cemetery Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Diabetes Association.
