Condolence From: Maarten Cote'
Condolence: My family is from Holland. My parents, since have passed away eight years ago, have ordered from Dan's mail before we ordered from the internet. He got to know our family and remembered us. Last time I spoke to him, he remembered what my dad used to say. I will miss him dearly.

Condolence: I never met Dan but we had many telephone conversations in Dutch and English regarding my yearly orders of Dutch Sinterklaas treats, and the occasional order for drop or poffertjes mix. Often he called to make sure the order arrived safely. I assumed he had retired, but was shocked to learn of his death last fall. Somehow, Dan managed to turn a supposedly impersonal internet business into a personal one. I am sure I am but one of many, many customers who will miss him.

Condolence: Knowing Dan for over 35 years has been one of the great pleasures in life for us both. He was a mentor, colleague, and good friend. Those of us that knew Dan can say he was truly unique and enriched our lives. Ute & I send our love to Rita, Daniella, Miriam and the entire family.

Condolence: Dear Waterman Family.
We truly loved Daan, although we never met him. We just read the sad news of his passing and we are heartbroken along with you. He's been a part of our family's celebrations for almost 20 years, providing all the Dutch treats we could eat. We must of gained 5 pounds each after becoming addicted to van Melle Drop Toffee, thanks to Daan gifting my Mom a huge box for her 90th Birthday. He was very special person, warm, friendly and loving. We will miss his sweet voice and kind words. Thank-you for letting us speak to him that one last time. He will always be in our hearts.
Love, Kato and Karen

Condolence: Dear Mrs Waterman and Daniele, please accept my deep felt condolences with the passing of your husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have been ordering Dutch goodies for many, many years and have talked with Daniel many times by phone. He was always concerned if I was satisfied with my orders, and occasionally called me if he had not heard from for a while ordering my favorite Dutch goodies.

He truly was a very special man.
