Obituary for Frances E Hyde
Frances Elaine (Lagace) Hyde, 77, died on January 1, 2017, at Saint Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford, surrounded by her youngest sons. Fran grew up in Taunton and was a longtime resident of Wareham and Monument Beach.
Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She overcame many challenges during her lifetime. Fran raised six children on her own, instilling in them a dark wit and strong survival skills. She was a certified nursing assistant who worked to improve the lives of the elderly. Fran was an expert knitter who created beautiful clothing for all her grandchildren. Frances also loved the beach, spending many summer days with her brood at Monument Beach. Frances was preceded in death by her parents Leo Lagace and Margaret (Yelle) Williams, both of Taunton; and grandson Dylan Anderson of Falmouth.
Frances leaves behind six children: Daniel F. (Robbin) Hyde of Mashpee; Suzanne F. Tripp of Rochester Hills, MI; Michelle H. (Stewart) Parsons of Worcester; David A. Hyde of Wareham; Frederick D. Hyde III of Maine, and Kevin F. Hyde of Sandwich. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Nicholas (Monika) Hyde of Syracuse, NY; Jacob Hyde of Seattle, WA, Courtney D. (Matthew) Wahlers of Bourne, Chelsea J. (Zachary) Smith of Rochester Hills, MI; Connor Schaefer of Wareham; Kassie F. Hyde of Sandwich; Kyle S. Parsons of Austin, TX; Madeline J. Parsons of Austin, TX; Jordan Hyde of VA; and Nahani Hyde of Martha’s Vineyard. Frances also leaves behind three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial for Frances will be held by the family.
