Obituary for Mark Gibson (Gibson)

DUXBURY - Mark G. (Gibby) Gibson of Duxbury, MA, age 51, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017 after a tough fought battle with MDS.

Son of the late Margaret E. (Gorham) Gibson and Gerard R. Gibson. Brother of Beth DiBona. Loving father of Kelly A. Gibson and Jessica A. Douglas. Devoted partner to Evelyn Flanagan. Cherished uncle to Capt. Daniel R. Murdough, Taylor L. Murdough, Kate V. Murdough, and Tessa M. DiBona. Great uncle to Robert S. Cantalupo. Proud grandfather to Chase E. Doran.

Mark was a loyal employee to Shiretown Glass of Plymouth for over 30 years. His loyalty spread far beyond his career. As a lifelong resident of Duxbury, Mark's friendships spanned decades because of the kindness and caring nature he possessed.

As an avid outdoorsman, no matter the season, Mark's joy came from the activities he loved; hunting, fishing, gardening, going to the beach if it wasn't closed because of the birds, playing outside with his grand dogs Parker and Kane.

Mark's illness impacted all those he knew. He will truly be missed. The family kindly asks that in lieu of donations or flowers, that you send prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be Saturday February 18, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
