Callahan, Aileen 76, of Plymouth, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 16, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Virginia Cabral Mederios. She was the loving mother of her daughter, Eileen of Plymouth, 3 sons Joseph and his wife Jeanne of Danvers, Dennis and his wife Maureen of Plympton and Brian and his wife Karla of Plymouth. Loving Mimi to 14 grandchildren Ben, Joseph, Megan, Katharina, Ryan, Brendan, Justin, Michala, George, Chet, Michael, Ralph, Jeff, David and 3 great-grandchildren Sophia, Chloe and Killian. Sister of Mildred (Millie) Russo of Weymouth, Adrienne Coletti of Weymouth and brother John Medeiros of Arizona. Aileen was predeceased in death by 2 brothers Alfred and Dominic and 2 sisters Dorothy and Elizabeth. Aileen is also survived by her dearest friend of 43 years Jane Feedman of Plymouth.
Aileen, also referred to as Ceel or Cecelia was born in Kauai, Hawaii before moving to South Philadelphia and later raising her family in Plymouth, MA. Aileen was an avid reader, knitter and mahjong player. She loved to cook and was well known for her famous potato salad. She enjoyed her time with her precious friends and family and watching her favorite sports teams.
Aileen retired as a Quality Control Manager at Pixley-Richards in Plymouth.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Monday March 20 from 5-8. A Catholic service will be held at 10am Tuesday March 21 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Plymouth. Burial will be at Vine Hill Cemetary in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Friends of the Plymouth Library 132 South St. Plymouth, Ma 02360
