Obituary for Marion Pomfret

Pomfret, Marion L. (Mickey), of Mashpee MA passed away at the McCarthy Care Center on December 21st at the age of 85. She was the wife of the Late John F. Pomfret of Mashpee MA.
Born in Dorchester MA, Marion was the daughter of Gertrude and John McDonald. A graduate of Dorchester High School, she moved to Salem MA shortly thereafter. Marion was a long-time employee of the former Beverly Hospital, now known as the Lahey Hospital, where she worked as a dietary aide for over 40 years. Although she faced many physical challenges in life, she is best remembered for her strong work ethic and her kindness to others.
Upon retirement, the Pomfrets moved to Southport Adult Community in Mashpee MA where Marion joined the Christ the King Parish, and enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center.
She leaves behind one sister, Evelyn York of CT. Two sisters, Rita A. Coughlin and Geraldine M. Ayers, and one brother, Frederick McDonald, predeceased her. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Marion will be laid to rest beside her husband at the National Cemetery on Friday, January 13th at 11:00. Those wishing to attend the service should gather at the residence, 10 Pacific Avenue, Mashpee by 10:20 am.
