Obituary for Eleanor Carvalho (Gale)

Eleanor  Carvalho (Gale)
Eleanor Carvalho passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Sunday, January 23, 2022. She was born on December 11, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Harry Gale and Lillian (Braley) Gale. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Carvalho and is also survived by her daughter, Noreen Carvalho Bechade, of Plymouth, and her son, Brian Carvalho and his wife, Lisa, of Taunton. She is the grandmother of Renee Bechade, Justin Carvalho, Tyler Carvalho and Haleigh Carvalho. She was born and raised in Middleboro, Massachusetts, and graduated from Middleboro High School in 1956.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Taunton, Massachusetts where she was involved with many activities in the church. She was also a member of the Temple Christ Messiah Church in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where she was involved with the ladies’ ministry. She was a clerk at Sheridan Silver for many years in Taunton and finished her clerical years with Bay State Crucible in Taunton, Massachusetts.

She cherished her children and her grandchildren as they all meant the world to her. She loved all her pets and cared for them as though they were her children too. She also was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids play little league from her living room window at the East Taunton Little League Complex. She enjoyed watching nature from her deck overlooking Richmond Pond. She was a chocoholic and the grandchildren all knew where her stash was. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
She brought much joy and love to Life Care in Raynham, Massachusetts and later at Cape Heritage in Sandwich, where she transitioned.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 31st from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and memorial services will be at 7:00 pm immediately following visiting hours. Interment will follow at a later date in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in Eleanor’s name at www.alz.org.
