Obituary for Eleanor G. Tarantino

Eleanor G. Tarantino, 92, of 8 Warren Avenue, Plymouth, wife of the late Lou Tarantino, passed away Saturday, September 5th at the Golden Living Nursing Home. She would have reached her 93rd birthday on October 8th.

Mrs. Tarantino was a graduate of Plymouth High School and a lifelong resident of Plymouth. She was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Gertrude (Penniman) Ryan. She worked for many years as a hostess at Dearn & McGrath’s Restaurant on Plymouth’s waterfront. She loved the ocean and all animals, big and small. She had the fondest memories of spending summers on Saquish and was a life member of the Plymouth Yacht Club.

She is survived by her son David F. Tarantino of Plymouth, two grandsons, David Jr. of Plymouth and Thomas of Old Lyme, CT, a granddaughter, Kathryn Eren of Bethlehem, CT, and one great-grandson, Thomas Tarantino.

Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Garrity Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, September 9th from 8:30-9:30 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a mass at St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
