Obituary for Marilyn Graffeo (Long)

Graffeo, Marilyn Maureen (Long), 61, of Plymouth, formerly of Duxbury, passed away Saturday, May 15th, 2010. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Bernard and Michelina Long.




Marilyn spent her life being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always making sure family came first. Marilyn was brilliant in the kitchen, widely traveled across six continents, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Marilyn’s most precious time was that spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.



Lovingly remembered as “Nana”, she leaves behind her best friend of 37 years, her husband, Anthony, of Plymouth, her children Michael Graffeo and his wife Kristin of Millbury, and Andrea Graffeo Plant and her husband Chris of Cambridge. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Daniela and Cameron, as well as her two brothers, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Memorial service will be by the Bartlett-Garrity Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A celebration of her life will be held at The Graffeo home on Saturday May 22nd from 2pm-9pm, including a memorial service at 3:30pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Marilyn’s name at Rockland Trust (http://www.rocklandtrust.com). Contact any Rockland Trust branch to contribute to the fund. Contributions will be used to name a Gene in the “Gene Display” at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Marilyn.
