Obituary for Chetwynd E Stamper

Stamper, Chetwynd Edward “Chet” 93, of Hingham and Duxbury passed away January 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Vera Stamper and his son Barry Stamper and grandson Brett Stamper. “Grampy” was a kind man, a devoted father grandfather, and great grandfather and a great appreciator of a good meal. He is survived by his children, Barbara & husband Leo Connelly of Plymouth, Peter B. Stamper & wife Martha of Hanover , Deborah & husband Pete Fagan of Richmond, VA and his daughter-in-law Maureen Stamper of Boca Raton, FL. He was also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Chet proudly served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He had a long career with Dubois Chemicals as a salesman. As a senior himself, he volunteered for many years at the Hingham Senior Center. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In his memory, donations can be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701.
